Eisbach

Read about my first visit to the Eisbach river here. During a second visit to the unique man-made river in Munich I brought my 400mm zoom lens to capture the action up close. The near zero temperate did not deter the seasoned locals who entertains a crowd of tourists for hours. I’ve picked out some of my favourite shots from the day.

The outside temperate was a brisk 3 degrees celsius. The surfers were wrapped up warm in hooded winter wetsuits. As the standing wave is only 20 meters wide there is only room for one surfer at a time. Surfers queue by the side of the river and wait for their turn to ride the wave.
