Cardboard Surfboard

Inspired by my love of sun, sea and surfing. Okay, I know what your thinking.  Cardboard gets wet, at which point cardboard sinks - not ideal for a surfboard. The first thing to point out here is that this project was to create the surfboard core, which is sealed in a fibreglass coating, making it waterproof.  These photos illustrate the core prior to coating.

The surfboard core is made entirely from reclaimed cardboard boxes sourced from supermarket waste bins.  It is comprised of 320 individual 'slices', each cut out on a laser cutter, before being assembled by hand.  Weighing in at a little under the weight of an equivalent foam core product, this surfboard proves the surf industry can really be as environmentally conscious as it claims.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
