Brownsea Island

Brownsea Island is a stunning island reserve located in Poole Harbour, Dorset, England. The island plays host to thriving habitats including woodland, heathland and a lagoon create a unique haven for wildlife, such as the rare red squirrel, Sika deer, and a wide variety of birds, including dunlin, kingfishers, common and sandwich terns and oystercatchers.

During the summer of 2019, I sailed to Brownsea Island from Portsmouth and anchored close to the shore. During frequent visits to the shore with my camera I encountered wildlife and spectacular views. Below are a selection of my favourite shots, most of them captured in the evening as the sun faded. Shot with my Canon 6D and 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L lens. Post production in Adobe Lightroom.
