Premium Projects are a collection of DIY projects commissioned from leading designers and woodworkers throughout North America and Europe. Each Premium Project is designed to teach users advanced woodworking, fabrication, and finishing techniques.
Premium Projects are available on ShaperHub, Shaper’s project sharing platform primarily intended for Shaper Origin owners. The projects are made available for a fee, typically between $15 - $60 per project. Customers who purchase a Premium Project receive access to detailed digital instructions and cutting files intended for use with Shaper Origin or other digital fabrication tools. The project instructions are optimised for navigating on mobile devices, making them convenient for viewing while in the home workshop.
At the time of its launch, Premium Projects were the first digital revenue booked by Shaper Tools and its parent company, the TTS Tooltechnic Systems group.
I worked as a hybrid product manager and product designer to deliver the product to market in mid-2020. My responsibilities included product leadership/management and UI/UX design. The core team for the project comprised of myself, a senior software engineer, and two remote software engineering contractors.
