Loop

The modern worker demands flexibility. The ability to work where they want, when they want. Technology allows teams to be more geographically distributed. The office could now be a coffee shop, a library or a co-working space. Any surface becomes a ‘hot-desk’. What does the modern worker need and how can furniture cater for their ever-changing needs from private work to group work?

Loop has been designed as a simple, sleek all in one workstation suitable for use in co-working spaces, libraries, educational institutions, and offices. The basic combination of seat and surface provides the core requirements for simple work tasks. Loop's light weight makes it extremely mobile, allowing users to re-configure their space. Units can be grouped in clusters for collaborative work, or separated for private tasks. When not in use, units can be stacked in groups of 6.

Loop's all in one tubular steel frame was modelled in CAD software. Using the information in the 3D CAD file, the frame was produced in segments using a positioning jig and a manual tube bender. Segments were then assembled and welded together before being hand finished.
